My Truest Inspiration
(Jacob R. McGowen)
[1st Verse]
Who gets me out of bed each morning?
Who keeps me stable in my fights?
Who is my hope when I have sorrow?
Whose angels keep me safe at night?
[Pre-Chorus]
Who is the Rock on which I stand on?
Who gives me gifts to use and share?
It’s not a sister, friend, or brother
It is a Lord who truly cares
[Chorus]
My truest inspiration
My joy and my salvation
My truest inspiration is You
Oh, my truest inspiration
My joy and my salvation
My truest inspiration is You
[2nd Verse]
Who is my friend when I am lonely?
Who is my refuge in the rain?
Who comforts me when I am worried?
Who will keep me from going insane?
[Pre-Chorus]
And who will keep me from destruction?
Who will enable me to thrive?
To whom will I give all the glory?
Who will I praise and testify?
[2nd Chorus]
My holy motivation
My only true foundation
My holy motivation is You
Oh, my holy motivation
My only true foundation
My holy motivation is You
[Bridge]
And who can help me
Fight the darkness?
Who can deliver me from fear?
Who can restore the years I’ve lost?
And who else can wipe away my tears?
[Outro]
My Lord, my King, my Savior
My one and true Redeemer
All I’ll ever need is You
Oh, my Lord, my King, my Savior
My one and true Redeemer
All I’ll ever need is You
