Day in September
(Jacob R. McGowen)
1st Verse:
It was a day in September
One we would never forget
When a fighter and a father
Was murdered by darkness
Pre-Chorus:
He never was a man to hate but
Fought for God, justice, and love
And as a nation mourned his loss
They turned to Christ up above
Chorus:
Light cannot be expunged
Though demons may kill and rage
Our battle it is not done
So we must fight on in faith
REPEAT CHORUS 2X
2nd Verse:
Deaths, pestilence, and division
Harm every nation these days
Murders and all acts of violence
Are increasing in every way
Pre-Chorus:
But we were promised by Jesus
That such dark times would come
Yet, we won’t scatter as cowards
We will fight in the armor of God
REPEAT CHORUS 2X
Bridge:
The enemy he loves to end the lives of
The children of the living God
But he will never quench the fire in us
If we stand for Jesus and no other love
Outro:
Light cannot be expunged
Though demons may kill and rage
Our battle it is not done
So we must fight on in faith
Light cannot be expunged
Though demons may kill and rage
Our battle it is not done
So we must fight on in faith
