Forever Sustained

Forever Sustained
(Jacob R. McGowen)

[1st Verse]
It’s easy to run away and hide
Lock up the doors and just stay inside

To close our eyes and forget what’s very real
For life is just no longer the same
And we all have endured great pain
Is there any hope at all in the lives that we live?

[Pre-Chorus]
For the storms may rage in power
And the odds they may seem dim
But our Lord, He is always faithful
You can see it in this world that we Iive

[Chorus]

The sun shines bright and the rain pours plenty

The winds and waves answer only to His Name
And though uncertainty’s thorn is oh, so piercing
In Him, we are forever sustained
In Him, we are forever sustained

[2nd Verse]

We’ll never know what tomorrow brings

So why do we always overthink
And wrestle with things we can’t ever control
We want life without all of the pain

But pain is a constant as is all change

And tears will come as we fight them and they still fall

[Pre-Chorus]
And the storms they will wreak havoc

And the news will still be grim

Yet, the storms and all creation

Will forever only bow to Him

[2nd Chorus]
The sun will shine and the rain will nurture

The fields of crops and the trees that sway
And if He tends to the needs of the birds

Then, I know He’ll be our abiding strength

[Bridge]
He holds this broken world together
He fights injustice faithfully

He is our Shelter and Provider
He won’t fail you, He won’t fail me!

[Outro]
He’ll help us fight through the hardest battle
He’ll stand beside us through storm and rain
Through fire, He’ll form and then He will refine us
And He will guide us till the end of the age
And He will guide us till the end of the age
