I’ll Trust

I’ll Trust
(Jacob R. McGowen)

[1st Verse]
Sufficient for a day is its own trouble
Each day, it has enough to be achieved
And one could never add any more hours
To satisfy each longing and each need
And with wisdom comes sure sorrow
And with knowledge comes sure grief
When I begin to think about
What very soon could be

[Pre-Chorus]
Yet, now instead of fearing
I fall to my knees
And turn to You alone
Who can supply all of my needs

[CHORUS]
As a man, I am such a mess
And I am weak in my own flesh
So, Lord, I lift my hands and say
In You, I’ll trust and I’ll obey

[2nd Verse]
I should have never made it to this moment
When I stand and look back at my life
A skeptic would have said that I would falter
And the Devil would have loved to see me die

[Pre-Chorus]
And some may have it easy
As all of their dreams come true
While others like me do toil just to even make it through
But through it all I pursue Jesus Christ
And in fellowship do find a life unlike all other kinds

[2ND CHORUS]
As a man, I am such a mess
And I will fail all by myself
So, Lord renew my heart and mind
Take every scale that blinds my eyes

[Bridge]
So lead me through the night
And Lord, be my guiding light
And be my bread and water
Till I leave this trying life

[Outro]
As a man, I am such a mess
And I am weak in my own flesh
So, Lord, I lift my hands and say
In You, I’ll trust and I’ll obey
I will obey, I will obey
