When The World Hit Pause

1st Verse:
The planes were empty
So were school halls
The stocks went down
As the corporations rose
People grew distant
And just like weeds
Darkness, depression
Choked life out of the weak
And everyone binged watching Netflix
And everyone fought over masks
But, how they needed to realize
That season, it wasn’t meant to never end

1st Chorus:
When the world hit pause
It was all because
Of a rampant and horrid disease
And they prayed for rain
And they wanted change
Yet, they needed to be on their knees
And find hope in the King of Kings

2nd Verse:
The votes were many
And some screamed fraud
Some were so happy
And some were more distraught
The year was nearly at the very end
And yet they wondered who next year
Would rule them
And so they tweeted and quarreled
Fought with their family and friends
But, how they needed to realize
Only one King has authority over man

2nd Chorus:
So they fought online
And they spent their time
Saying which man they
Thought should lead
Yet, in all their rage
And in all their pain
How they failed to remember one thing
Jesus is eternally King

The year that is 2020
Is just a speck of dust
Within the hands of the Father
He is who we should forever-ever trust
