Testimonies of Saints
(Jacob McGowen)
1st Verse:
He closed his shop on Olive Street
Before the years’ first snow
He could no longer make ends meet
And the bank said he must go
For years he sold great coffee
To the young and the old
He could have stayed home crying
But he had greater hope
1st Chorus:
He knew that life is full of sorrow
He knew that life is full of tears
Yet, he knew that Christ holds all tommorows
And that is why he never feared
2nd Verse:
She helped the sick and dying
She loved the babies so
Offered her home to orphans
And gave the lost some hope
Never expecting riches
She sacrificed herself
Believing in Him only
And a great eternal wealth
2nd Chorus:
She served without expecting glory
She risked her mind and her own health
Yet, she carried what she had been given
And clung to only Christ Himself
3rd Verse:
The heavens wait prepared to
Welcome the tribes of man
Everyone who has chosen
To love the Great I Am
While in His glorious throne room
He shines in majesty
While standing in the fire
He helps all who believe
3rd Chorus:
He sees us sigh and daily struggle
He knows the burdens we carry
Yet, by His might and by His spirit
He gives us power to succeed
He’ll help us always to succeed
He’ll carry all our needs
But we must first believe
