There’s A Battle
By: Jacob McGowen
Darkness has its quivers
And it intends to kill
As storm clouds rush in
Wickedness is applauded
While all good is called a sin
As neighbors rise and bicker
As chaos wrecks our lives
There is more to this grand picture
And a Lord who hears our cries
For there’s a battle in the air
There’s a fight that we can’t see
Between heaven, kings, and rulers
Between principalities
And we may not be called heroes
But we have a place to be
Praying through the bleakest battles
On our hands, on our knees
The evil one, he whispers
Words that divide and tempt
He thinks he is much bigger
Than the God of Abraham
He kicks back and he thinks that
He can enjoy the show
But he’s a fool to think that
God is not in control
For there’s a battle in the air
There’s a fight that we can’t see
Between heaven, kings, and rulers
Between principalities
And we may not be called heroes
But we have a place to be
Praying through the bleakest battles
On our hands, on our knees
