Be Thankful

Be Thankful
(Jacob McGowen)

1st Verse:
News feed says the end is coming
Someone coughs and we start running
So we stockpile TP
We can’t step outside our homes and
Can just talk to others on our phones while
We keep on staring at screens
Meanwhile, the web has a million conspiracies
And we all want to pitch a fight
But, perhaps it would be a better choice to
Think about simpler times and say…

Chorus:
We didn’t know how good we had it
We didn’t care about what really mattered
Back when we could have been thankful
For a hug and kiss from grandma
For the chance to seize our days and
Perhaps we can now be thankful

REPEAT CHORUS

2nd Verse:
Isolation, it reveals the frailty of all the living
So we no longer can hide
Our bitterness and our resentment
Or a flood of deep addictions
That make us want to sit and cry
And there are those who say that they can
Repair our divisive state
But, there is One who can restore our minds
And give us His new life and strength
To live and…

2nd Chorus:
Cherish each and every moment
Really love our friends and family
Thank Him each and every day
For the daily bread He gives us
For the Home that He provides and
For a strong and mighty faith
A strong and mighty faith

Bridge:
We stand alone on Christ the Rock
It’s in His power we thrive
To live in praise and gratitude
For the rest of our whole lives

REPEAT BRIDGE

3rd Chorus:
We are blessed beyond all measure
His love covers all our failures
And as we live our lives
Every time we choose to praise and
Lift our prayers up straight to Heaven
Dry bones receive new life
