Words Matter

Words Matter
(Jacob McGowen)

1st Verse:
We all search for meaning
And relief in this life
We all ask our questions
And want answers to why
This world is in such a messy
And broken state
So, we live our lives
And as we walk out our days
We find many reasons
To fight and debate
Over absolutely everything

And time has shown
That sin has had
A hold on every
Living man
But, He who reigns
Enthroned on high
Speaks Truth that
Can be still applied

Chorus:
Reckless words will pierce like swords
But a careful tongue brings healing
And a gentle answer will turn away wrath
While a harsh word will stir anger
REPEAT 2X

2nd Verse:
Be kind and sacrificial
A pure, humble soul
And don’t you ever become
Unequally yoked
Serve only Elohim, Adonai
Read the Living Word
Every night, every day
Don’t succumb to weakness
Or become depraved
Make the most of your limited days

And know that what we really need
Is not a commander in chief
But pure and mighty, perfect love
To move in power in all of us

But we gotta start somewhere
So we should…

2nd Chorus:
Choose our words, put down our swords
Speak life, speak love, speak healing
Supply kind answers to turn away wrath
And in Him, end fires of anger!
REPEAT 2X

And in Him, end fires of anger!
For all our words and His matter!

This is a great thing to preach to ourselves!
