Drug of Choice

Drug of Choice
(Jacob McGowen)

1st Verse:
An old man on a darkened street
A single mom trying to make ends meet
A young man feeling all alone
An orphan without a home

A pastor feeling worn and tired
A politician caught up in lies
No matter creed, color, or name
One thing remains the same…

Chorus:
Everyone’s got a drug of choice
To try and fill most any void
To ease the pain that plagues
Their minds
And maybe feel secure inside
REPEAT 2x

2nd Verse:
For all have sinned and fallen short
Of the glory of our God
It is by faith and not by works
That we can truly know the Lord

Yet, as long as we walk through this world
We’ll be tempted to doubt our worth
Call on every other name, but not
The, the only one that saves!

Yet, we can…

2nd Chorus:
Run to Christ the cornerstone
Build our lives on Him alone
Stand secure through raging waves
And not, not falter through any pain
REPEAT 2x

Bridge:
Who the Son sets free
Is free indeed!
He alone can cleanse
All iniquity!
REPEAT 2x

3rd Chorus:
He alone fills every void
His voice shouts out
Through a world of noise
The price He paid sets all men free
At just His name, all evil leaves
REPEAT 2x

At just His name, all evil leaves
Forever, He will reign as King!
