Children of the King

Children of the King
(Jacob McGowen)

1st Verse:
Rising up to meet the dawn
You work hard everyday
You stress and strain to make ends meet
And earn a little pay

But all you see and think about
Is how your brother gives
And you think you’d be better off
If he no longer lived

1st Chorus:
Oh, reckless wanderer
I see what you have done
Your brother’s blood is on your hands
Your father’s lost a son

So now, I have set you apart
I’ve marked you from the rest
And though you’ll strain till you shall die
I’ll be with you to the end

2nd Verse:
So, you were found with a man
Committing wretched sins
They dragged you out and threw you down
They all wanted you dead

But, I came walking through the crowd
And as they dropped their stones
I stepped right down to sit with you
And calmly let you know

2nd Chorus:
Oh, precious daughter
Now go and sin no more
I have paved a way for you
Now, you can stand restored

All life, all joy, all hope and peace
Are found within My hands
And I will always be with you
My love, it never ends

Bridge:
And you may be a wanderer
A broken son or daughter
But no power of hell could deter
From my love, or my blood that covers you
REPEAT 2x

3rd Chorus:
Oh, children of the King
Now, stand and lift your hands
Your chains are gone, I’ve set you free
Now you can understand
That what this world oft throws at you
Will never make you whole
That I will always fill you up
And I’ll be in control
