Marriage of the Lamb-Original Version

Marriage of the Lamb – Original Version
(Jacob R. McGowen)

[1st Verse]
Knock upon the door of mercy
Stand before the throne of grace
Come adore the Lord of Glory
Who rose to save us from the grave

[Pre-Chorus]
Rest within His greener pastures
Trust that He will never change
Know the kind of love He offers
Makes you whole
So you can stand and say

[CHORUS]
I will never thirst again
For the Lord has washed away my sins
And He’s shown me no other fount
Will fill me or make me quite like Him
So no matter what comes my way
I know that my Lord God, He will sustain
My weary heart, till I get to stand before Him
At the marriage of the Lamb

[2nd Verse]
Every day there’s people doubting
Clung to shame and wondering why
It seems that there’s no one who listens
No one who sees them when they cry

[Pre-Chorus]
But we know who writes the story
We know our Lord he has a plan
So we should tell the world the gospel
And live to serve and praise the Great I Am

[2nd Chorus]
So all will never thirst again
So all can be redeemed and then be cleansed
Be no longer captives, slaves, or wounded
But be fully changed by Him
And when we finally reach the day
When we can stand and see Him face to face
We’ll adore and say forever “holy, holy is the lamb…

[Bridge}
Holy, holy is the Lord Almighty!
Worthy, worthy to receive all glory!
Holy, ho-ly is the Lamb!
Holy, holy is the Lord Almighty!
Worthy, worthy to receive all glory!
Holy, ho-ly is the Lamb!

[Outro]
We will never thirst again
For the Lord has washed away our sins
And the work that He began within us
He will finish in the end
So no matter what comes our way
We can know that God, He will sustain
Our weary hearts till we get to stand before Him
At the marriage of the Lamb
At the marriage of the Lamb
At the marriage of the Lamb
