Silly (In The End)

Silly (In The End)

By: Jacob McGowen

1ST  VERSE

Stocks falling, people on their knees

Kids dying, mothers cry in grief

We’re all searching, reaching for

Something more, but still find it hard

To love our friends next door

Makes you wonder

How can I find peace?

CHORUS:

It’s not in the solace of strangers

It’s not in the song of the streets

It’s not in the cry of rebellion

That I find peace

But it’s in the arms of a Savior

My most trusted friend

That I find all my meaning

And that all earthly things

Are silly in the end

2ND VERSE

Politicians playing with our minds

Telling stories founded in pure lies

We seek comfort from the world we know

Yet, He told us, oh so long ago

That this world was never meant to be

Our home

And, so our song, shall be…

2ND CHORUS

It’s not in the solace of strangers

It’s not in the song of the streets

It’s not in the cries of rebellion

That we find peace

But it’s in the arms of a Savior

Our healer and friend

That we find all our meaning

And that all earthly things

Are silly in the end.
