Living In The City
Headed down the stairs
To the station
Paid my dues, so I can take my seat
There are people here aiming for a fortune, while others here try to make ends meet
Living in, living in the city
Feeling so young and so alive
Living in, living in the city
Yet I feel, a hole that’s deep inside
Found a stop, got off where they say lovers, cross paths and never leave
Each other’s side
I want love, but what I’m really craving
Is a peace no romance could provide
Took a drive, far out from the city
Till I found a barren dusty road
Felt alone, cried out for forgiveness
When I rose, at the end of the road I saw
The Lord, the treasured King of Heaven, outstretched arms
Beckoning me home
saying “those lies, you no longer
have to listen
since you’re home, you don’t have to roam and…”
Live in, live in the city
Feel lost abandoned or alone
You are loved, by I the Lord of heaven
This is truth that will always be known
