Abundant God
By: Jacob McGowen
You can drain a river
You can drain the sea
You can pour out gumbo
While having some sweet ice tea
You can call your momma
From 9-5, all day
But the truth that still remains
Is you can’t drain me
You can’t change me
Nor my love for you
And how I see, you as you are
And as you can be
So, child why is it so hard to see?
You can’t drain me
Mom and Dad will listen
A friend or two will care
As you share your struggles
To ease the load you bare
But as you share your burdens
Longing for no cares
If you’d just sink to your knees
Perhaps you’d hear the Savior
Sing you can’t drain…
You can’t drain me
You can’t change me
Nor my love for you
And how I see, you as you are
And as you can be
So why child is it so hard to see?
You can’t drain me!
